Congratulations from your old crew!!!!! NRCĀ alumnus (’06-’08) Trevot Gionet, nephew of current NRC member Bob Berry, is a graduating senior at Hobart and Williams Smith (HWS) College, and just learned he is a recipient of a prestigious Fulbright Teaching Assistant Grant to Vietnam! As the article on HWS college website states, “This highly competitive program selected just 10 students to receive a position in Vietnam. In addition to teaching English at a collegiate level, Gionet will learn to teach math – in Vietnamese.” Congratulations from your whole High School Crew, Trevor was a member 2006 – 2008!
Per the HWS article, “The Fulbright Program is the U.S. Government’s flagship international exchange program. Created in 1949, the program is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the U.S. and numerous nations around the world. Participants are chosen for their academic merit and leadership qualities, and are given the opportunity to study, live, teach and conduct research abroad for one year in order to exchange ideas and seek solutions to shared global concerns.”
As old coaches do, I glanced back at the his graduating HS Rowing Awards Ceremony to see the Trevor won the “Bull Oarsman” award along with his rowing partner Chris Kennedy! The same month he graduated, I was also honored to attend his Eagle Awards Ceremony! Congratulations Trevor – You make us proud!
